David Feehan has been heavily involved in the Music industry since the age of seven
and over the past five decades has contributed hugely to the New Zealand and international
music scene.
From Church Choirs, School Choirs, New Zealand Opera Company, Rock Bands and Big
Bands through to International recording, Songwriting and session Vocalist, David
is one of New Zealand's most acclaimed male vocalist. He has been a vocal Tutor at
Wellington's Whitireia Polytechnic (1990 – 1997) and Massey University’s Wellington
Music (1998 – 2006) and has taken workshops all over the country in churches, universities,
music festivals and a variety of other institutions. He worked as a guest tutor with
the prestigious Tuscany Music Project when they held a clinic in Nelson, NZ in 2011
and has attended the Project course in Perugia, Italy twice, and studied in New York
and San Diego. The top young jazz vocalist prize at the Tauranga Jazz Festival, the
world’s oldest continuous jazz festival, is the David Feehan Trophy; such is his
mana as a Jazz singer/tutor in NZ.
